Laser hair removal treatment in the Northwest

laser hair removal cheshire and merseysideLaser hair removal is the only clinically proven way to remove unwanted hair gently, quickly and effectively with permanent results while being affordable to all. Almost everyone has unwanted hair somewhere on their body. Unfortunately, traditional hair removal routines can be tedious, painful and expensive over time. Shaving may last a day, waxing a couple of weeks, but none provide a permanent solution.

The most common areas for laser hair removal treatments in women are the face, neck, bikini line, underarms, nipples, tummy line, arms and legs. The most common areas in men are the face, neck, ears, back and chest.

How laser hair removal works

laser hair removal cheshire and merseyside

We pass laser energy through the skin to selectively target the hair follicle. This energy is then absorbed into the hair follicle to 'switch it off' it so that hair will cease to grow. You will be made comfortable using our air cooling system through out the treatment. It is necessary to have a course of treatments to achieve the desired end result. The number of treatments you will require will depend on the area being treated along with individual response to treatment. We will discuss your treatment plan with you on an individual basis.

Laser Hair Removal - The Treatment

Janet Williams performing laser hair removal at her cheshire and merseyside laser clinicAs the laser is passed over the area being treated, the hairs are super-heated - effectively 'switching-off' the growth cycle of the hair follicle. This greatly reduces further hair growth and leaves the skin silky smooth, as well as hair free.

We use a refrigerated air cooling system throughout the treatment to enhance your comfort and decrease the likelihood of adverse side effects

It is necessary to have a course of treatments to achieve the desired end result. How many depends on the area being treated. These treatments are tailored to your needs and will be discussed at your consultation.

Frequently asked hair removal questions

How does laser hair removal work?

To eliminate hair, the laser emits gentle pulses of energy that pass through the skin to the hair follicle. This energy is then absorbed into the hair follicle to super-heat the follicle in order to effectively 'switch-off' the growth cycle of the follicle so that hair will never grow there again.

Am I a viable candidate for laser hair removal?

Laser hair removal can be applied to all areas of the body and on all types of skin (even tanned or dark skin). This is not the case with all laser treatments. IPL for instance is unsuitable for darker skin types and may be dangerous as well as painful.

Does laser hair removal hurt?

The treatment causes only minimal discomfort. Patients often say it feels similar to the snap of a rubber band. Slight redness or localised swelling can occasionally occur, but this usually subsides within the first 24 hours after treatment. More detailed aftercare is discussed with every patient at their consultation and after each treatment.

How many treatments are required?

Typically patients will see results in 4 - 6 treatments, though this number will vary based upon skin tone, hair colour and several other factors. We will talk to you about variables that may affect your individual results and treatment at your consultation.
